I believe they had 41 boats? We fished our 2 day club tourney this same weekend and stayed with tophat who was helping to run the tourney. 3 fish limit took 12.42 to win. We had 13 with our best 3, but weren't fishing the wounded warrior. Lol. We weighed in 18.24 to win day one of our tourney yesterday and won again today with 15.64 to take overall winner as well. We caught so many 3 lb fish, it was unbelievable. We didn't catch many short fish at all. Just couldn't find many 5-6 lb schools. One good school we found prefishing had 4 boats on it on saturday when we got there and had nothing but 18 inch 3 lbers on it today and it was as fast as you could get your bait in there.
It was awesome. We had about 23 lbs Friday just running spots and seeing what kind of fish were on em. We'd catch a couple of keepers right off the bat and pull up and leave to go find another school. Of course with all of the boats that were out Saturday, other people found those same schools of better fish too. They hammered a dd22 and 6xd for the first 2 hours of daylight and then they were all over a 12 inch worm and 3/4 oz football jig. We caught most fish in 7-15 ft of water but we had some places were the top of the ledge was 18 and crashed into 30 ft of water, and they were loaded up there.
I can remember when other fishermen laughed at me, told me I had not clue, etc. when I fished deepwater out in the middle. I miss those days, because there not much competition. Definitely not true anymore.
