are the GIS property line maps for TN. i was looking at a property i just got, and the property lines are showing fields cut in half and owned my two different people. That doesn't seem possible. Who would own half a field when the whole thing is planted in crops.
 
It could just be surveyed off and the same person owns them I know of several properties like that. My place is cut up kinda weird like that.

One of my places is like this. There is a 5 acre section boxed out in the middle. I asked the land owner he said he had thought about putting a trailer there at one time and the county required a 5 acre spot marked out that could not be divided as long as the trailer was on it. It shows up in the map like a donut hole
