Unbeknowst to most, I go to a mens Bible study every morning at 5:30. One of the guys this morning, asked me if I was a meat hunter or trophy hunter. I replied mostly just a hunter but I would kill a big buck if I saw one.
Here is where it gets good.
He pulls out a picture his wife took yesterday afternoon behind their barn, (they have 73-acres). The buck appeared to be a ten with about a 22-inch spread and quite long tines for this time of year.
He said, "If you want, you can come hunt with a bow. We don't allow any hunting but I guess it would be alright if you just bow hunted."
I spect I might just do that. hard to judge one in velvet but I would guess this deer would be in the 140's. That is pretty good for our part of the sate.
