IMO, the SST is not a good choice for a 300 magnum unless it will be used primarily for long range hunting. I would use a Nosler Accubond instead. If you want to shoot cheap and stick with Hornaday, the BTSP is hard to beat.
It wasn't my choice as my boy bought a box for his 300 WM. I don't use them in my 300. I just thought someone could save me some time finding a good powder combo they have already ran across. The SST's are bonded bullets though.
the sst is not bonded. It's hornady's version of the ballistic tip. The interbond is a bonded bullet made by hornadysll":22u79s43 said:

What's the bullet weight?
My 180 grain Ballistic tip, Partition, and Accubond load is
1. 75.5 grains of RL22 Fed 215M primer R-P brass
or
2. 78 grains IMR7828 Fed 215M primer R-P Brass
Both are accurate, both are close to 3,000 FPS. My Browning A-Bolt likes them loaded out so far I have one in chamber and one on top of magazine. Never needed the 2nd shot. IMR7828 is everywhere and I do not use the SSC. The metering problems don't bother me.

He bought 180 grainers. I have personal load data for 165, 168, 180, and 208 grain bullets of different manufacturers that I have collected myself over the years for a couple of different 300 WM's that I own(ed). I just have never tested any SST's before. I realize most comparable weight grain bullets of all manufacturers will shoot about the same weight charge pretty consistently, I am just inquiring a discussion on someone who has real-life experience with this particular bullet.
Like you, I have found RL-22 to be the most accurate powder in most 180 grain bullets I have tried.......but RL25 worked best in my rifle for Sierra's. So, not every bullet is apples-to apples for the same powder manufacturer, burn rate, or charge. The absolute best load I have found for a Savage BVSS that I own is with RL19 and 168 grain Berger hunting VLD's. It is the sheet for that particular gun......but it weighs over 10 pounds and is only used for long-range applications.

a 180 sst and 300 win mag is not a good combo for deer in the woods. 200 yds across a field yes but the close up shot will have a lot of bloodshot meat and quite possible result is losing a deer
150 gr sst @ 3750 fps out of 300 rum ,broadside heart lung shots only ,all deer dropped like they were shot in neck,no exit ,complete devastation of vitals,kept a 180gr scirocco in magazine for any other angle shot
