Hornady 55 gr GMX

are these Barnse X Bullet knock offs? I picked up a box and they are as long as a 69 SMK ,,may let JW put one in the ribs Sat morning but I like the 65 Sierra GK pretty good,,

anybody used the GMX?

I have in the form of a 165 gr out of my 30-06. It's Hornady's Barnes, it's made of gilding metal instead of pure copper. The one I recovered from the rear ham of a deer facing me tells me it penetrates plenty. It mushroomed perfectly and held all of its weight. My recovered bullet looked like it does in the magazines, perfect. I don't think you need it for deer out of the 06, but the little 55 gr out of a 223 should lay down any whitetail.
