Shot 13 through my Remington Genesis today...

At 50yrds 110gr 777 loose, Nail Drivers! Had two groups of three that were inside 1/2" and twice I had a bullet hit the same hole as the bullet before it...

Moved to 100yrds and got them hitting at 1" above center all with in 1" of each other with 1 group of 2 through the same hole...I think I can get them closer than that...the table I shoot off broke a leg and was very unsteady...I am taking another table next time and will see. But I never changed loads 110gr 777 loose every shot, I think that once I get a steadier rest and play with my loads they will tighten up more...I just had that feeling several times that when the 209 went off I pulled or pushed some (in anticipation of the table moving)...Not saying 1" groups are not great its just I got that feeling that they will tighten up once I get every thing dialed in...

My opinion of the new SST-ML High Speed Low Drag...
While I am not very excited over sabots, this one was true to its advertising...No gimics or tricks...Easy load every time and bullets that fly good and get down range in a hurry...very accurate and from DA's evidence of the destruction a SST causes on deer I would guess that there will be no issues dropping one at 100+ yrds...My Remington Genesis likes them...
 
changed from 245g powerbelts to 300 grain sst's in a CVA optima -
100g 777 - the powerbelts were 245g had it sited dead on @ 100yds with the powerbelts - 1st shot with the sst's was @ 50 yards & was 1/4" high did not have to do much to get it sited in at 100 yards on. also alot tighter groups @ 100 yards with the SST's in my gun
 
Wow!.....Still havent went to the range with the fpb hornady's but cant wait to start experimenting soon.
 
Ok finally got out there today and spent about a gazillion dollars between sabots/ bullets, powder and cleaning swabs. Good Lord! I shot and shot and shot some more. Gun was new - thanks once again to Poorboy - so no sighting had been done. My buddy Jason brought his laser sighter deal and that helped get us moving in the right direction. Finally showed up on paper at 50-yards. I had no clue where my bullets were going! Once I got the scope sighted in we moved out to 100-yards. The difference wound up being about a 4 inch change when moving from 50 out to 100. Once we had the sighting problem figured out - this combination was money in the bank. Great accuracy. Again Im shooting a Thompson Center Omega using the 300grain Hornady with 2 pyrodex pellets so 100grains of black powder. Could not be happier. Amazing gun/bullet/powder combo. I can smell deer fear from my house! You hear me Bucks? You tell'em I'm coming and hell is coming with me!

Hey team browning,

I have the same gun, but will shoot loose powder. What was the farthest shot you did with the 300 grain? How much drop?
 
I didnt go beyond 100-yards for 2 reasons. 1 - the range we were on was a 100-yard range and there was a competition going on at the long range there which is like 300-yards I believe and (2) I dont feel overly comfortable a lot further than that yet with this gun. That will change over time I am sure. I misspoke above - it was a 2-inch drop from 50 to 100 but it is spot on at 100. I wont imagine much more than another 2-4 inches at the next 100. Thats still "White tail close" as Gregg Ritz from TC says.

camo, shot my fpb's last weekend through cva kodiak. loads like they adverrtise. shot with 2 pellets pyrodex accuracy was strong. @ 100 yds grouped @1.5in (which for me ain't bad). it was nice to rapid fire without worrying about the sabot :grin: steve

Yep, that's dang good for pyrodex pellets... I wish that they would fit in my Remington Genesis...
 
I changed scope mounts on my Remington Genesis...so I had to re-sight... :grin:

Shot up a whole box of the Hornady 300gr SST High Speed w/ Low Drag sabots...took forever to get back on paper. But once I was on it was Grrrrrrrrrreat! Finished at 100yrds, last three shots I could cover all three holes with my thumb!

While I still wish I could shake the sabots and shoot the FPB's I can not complain at all about the SST and the low drag sabots...Remarkable results in my opinion...still shooting 110gr 777 loose
