What's the earliest y'all have started catch fish on hoppers? If there's anything I love about trout fishing it's hoppers. I've had them come up and just blast them, it's awesome! I had this place that had a big field right up on the river that was always reliable, I threw a Morrish hopper in there one time and I just knew, that fish came up and hammered that fly and went nuts, he broke me off of 4x and he came back up shaking his head with the hopper in his upper lip, never saw that before. I bend the barbs down on everything so I'm sure he got it out. I can't wait to go. Lotta times I hang a zebra off it like with a dry.

Your post reminds me of the great "hopper hatch" of 94, maybe 95, not sure. I was fishing the Hiawassee right in the middle of the Webb farm with no generators running and just happened to be there when they started mowing and raking hay. It was absolutely crazy at the fish hitting the top! I think I was literally catching fish on every drift. I fished until I couldn't see anymore and no telling how many I caught. It was a great day!
But to answer your question, terrestrial season starts for me in late June/ early July.
