Shot a small buck this morning and it's rear hoove and ankle are all black and appears like a real bad burn but there's deformation to his toes. The hoof actually has wart looking spots all over it too. Appeared to not have any kind of limp either. If someone can post pics for me I'll send them out.

a pic would help, as EHD will cause the hooves to rot and peel off. Ive saw this on several that were recovering from EHD.

Well I've looked up EHD survivor hooves on the ol e-net and it don't look nothing like this. It honestly looks like a torch was taken the the foot of this deer. Even the hair looks that way. ????

Just dropped it off at the butcher. Kids are wanting jerky and I don't have the patience to cut for jerky. $60 and it's vacuum packed for me to pick up. Can't beat that. Working two jobs makes a man lazy!

Doesn't sound like EHD as it was just one foot right? Sounds like either an injury or some type infection to that foot/leg!

Only one foot is right. It's pretty nasty looking but not like an infection. It really looks like he put his leg in a fire. Lol. I'm very serious. The hoof even has blisters on it like it got real hot.
Maybe he was rubbing two sticks together and got carried away!
