I have a field that has small honey locust trees coming up and am thinking of doing cut-stump herbicide treatments to them. Will glyphoshate be sufficent or should I use a specialty herbicide? I will like to rid the field of them to save tractor tires and cattles feet. Thanks for any advice!

A 50/50 mix of gly will work but does better in the Fall when nutrients are going from shoot to root. Tordon will do the trick now, as will some other herbicides. But of course you will pay more for those than you would gly.

For your bigger ones take a cordless drill with a 3/8" bit. Drill 3 holes around the trunk 2" or so deep, Squirt full strength Gly or Garlon.

Dead.
