Hey guys I am new on here so this is my first topic that I have started but I have a question regarding a homebrew I have made. I have a sony s600 that I had the guys at whitetail supply hack for me. This was done about 8months ago. I built the cam with an XLP control board in a pelican 1020 case....the issue is the camera worked fine the first few times but now it will take 1 or 2 pictures and freeze. The power goes off and the lens is out and open almost like the batteries have died, but it will do it with fresh batteries. Has anyone had this kind of issue before? I have no problem breaking into the cam and doing stuff myself. This was the first one I had done so I let someone else hack it for me.

Any suggestions?

What about your board power ,have you checked it?And your connections to the board.
I just sent a board back to sss that acted like it had a short somewhere, when I picked it up the entire chip block fell off in my hand. Was doing as you described ...take a few and then Quit.

I had thought originally it was the board, but I have tried the camera on its own not connected to the controller board and it does the same thing. Thanks for the tip on hagshouse also
