I have a few other plots that I'm workin on. Instead of spending more and waiting for the test result, is there a reliable self ph soil test that I can buy over the counter? I see a few online but wondered if anyone here has ever used anything that's worth buying.

What about N, P, and K?
This test only measures ph. Apparently the same company also makes separate tests for N, P, and K. ACE only had this. If it's reliable, I might give those a shot too.MickThompson":3r61xdtg said:

I've seen those at Wal-Mart and a few other places.....I just questioned their reliability. When it comes to ph, in most respects, you can't have too much lime. You can always use it. The standard we have always used is 2 tons per acre (about every 5 years). If you are liming your place from the other thread (some old garden of some type :? ), I'd probably just get 8-10 bags and spread it out. Still need to test NP&K - I'd do a soil test - it will tell you all you need, so you're not spending more than you have to.
