I have a permit to hunt hogs on my lease. They seem to be only active at night - with the rare occasion day movement.

Without dogs - whats the best way to get on these things?

I set up a feeder and they were coming in anywhere between dark 30 and 3 am. It was just plain corn - do you think they would be more johnny on the spot if I start mixing in some kool-aid packets with the corn?

I do have my AR (.223) setup with a 150 lumen LED green light.

A feeder and hunt at night using a red light works really well from what I've heard.

is it legal? I don't know just asking.

could try trapping them, I know you are supposed to kill them on the spot. But what would happen if a few got loose in the PETA yards? :tu: would they kill them or love them :poke:

It must be if you're the land owner with the depredation permit.

Let me rephrase that, I know it's being done but you'll have to check and see if it's legal. Maybe someone else on here should know if it's legal or not. I'm not familiar with the rules of the depredation permit.

The land owner can select x # of hunters and then turn those names into TWRA. those hunters can kill them by any means that they choose. Night, day, bait, trap, anything except dogs. And you must not leave that property. We have the exemption on my son in laws families land in McMinn Co. Plan on getting after um after deer season. I am thinking bait at night with a red light with a shotgun full of 00buck.

There are a couple of companies that make remote controls for feeders. They aren't very expensive either. That may help you as they sometimes hear the feeder go off and come to it.
