I have a sightmark photon rt that I hog hunt with. Is there an aftermarket IR illuminator out there that does NOT give off a red glow? The 940nm maybe? On 3 different hunts at night lately as soon as I turned on the IR illuminator the hogs run out of the road (this is where the feed is ofcourse). Before anybody says they don't see blah blah or whatever argument, this is happening. They are not smelling us, as we let them feed a couple minutes before we start shooting. Several of my buddies argued the illuminator was not running the hogs off until they seen the footage. Keep in mind these scopes record, which is wicked awesome kill videos with an AR-10. I am not going to argue or defend myself to anyone, I researched a bunch of forums before I decided to ask you guys. Anyone with a solution or suggest I would really appreciate it. I figure there has to be a couple of guys in here that may have a solution.

I think the 940nm is what your after. I am surprised your having that trouble but don't doubt you. I have shot 5 this week within 10-20 yards that didn't run from a standard IR Illuminator on a pulsar, however, the pulsar's have a diffuser over the illuminator.

Thank you. I even put some translucent gray vehicle wrap vinyl on the illuminator lens to try to knock down some of the glow. I'll try the 940nm. That will extend the battery life of my scope also.

I good with losing distance... I'm only shooting at 75yds max. I can identify the species of each animal easily at 150 yds with the one that comes standard. I'm really happy with the scope for the money, it's just that dang glow.........
