I know I am asking about the wrong state, but has anybody ever hunted hear? If so, what does the hog population look like in this area?

It would be worth checking out the property for hog sign. I used to hunt in the Nat'l Forest a good bit. -lots of hog sign, but I didn't see them during daylight too often, just a handful of times. Only thing about the Nt'l Forest is you are limited weapon wise to whatever season is open. On private land, you can hunt hogs with any weapon you wish.
BTW, if you want to kill does on that property, you'll need to enter into a lease agreement in order to be legal as a NR. I hunted a property in MS for the last 5 years and leased it for $1 in order to be legal. That being said "legal" in Mississippi, as you will discover, is just a mere suggestion
