I understand there have been two weekend hog hunts in January open to the public.
I heard there is no license required, no hunter safety, non residents can participate in the hunts, mo limits on game taken.
I even called the TWRA region 3 office and was told the above is all true as the state is trying to eradicate the hogs from the areas.
To me this makes no sense and is very dangerous. I can understand having the open weekends but with licensed hunters who have taken hunter safety.
Please respond as how the TWRA thinks it is safe to have such a hunt.
