Have any of yall ever hunting hogs in alabama? The wife and I are planning on going down this April camping out and trying to get some pork. Do yall know of a good wma in northern Alabama that has a good population of hogs and a place to tent camp? Thanks guys.

I'm on the state line and have been looking, also.
Nothing in Madison or Limestone Counties.
Closest appears to be Bankhead National Forest.

Yeah I read about Bankhead on alabamas site. It's only about two hours from us so that's what we were planning on.

We have been doing our homework on Bankhead. I've gotten a lot of great information from the wildlife agents and a couple,of locals down there, it seems they have had some Forrest fires that have impacted and displaced the hogs somewhat since I originally checked it out,

My son and I are going to go down there soon to do some scouting, For the $95 in out of state tags it's a good deal and should be fun.

Awesome info guys thanks for your help. So it looks like I need to call to see exactly what permits and tags I'll need and also a good place to camp within the forrest

In addition to the $95 out of state small game permit you will need the WMA permit

Well now I'm confused again. I though it order to hunt hogs at that time of the year with a Centerfire rifle I could hunt the national forrest but not the wma. Is this right? If so would I still need the wma permit to hunt the forrest?
