I want to go hog hunting @ the Big South Fork later this winter. Has anyone been there before? Anyone got any useful tips of places to try or avoid and the best way to get there? The site/map says the entire park is open open to hunting except the "safety zones". However, being the pessimist I am, I somehow doubt it's really that simple.

Bring your walking boots, and be prepared to not even see any..I can put you on some sign, and alot of it.I can show you spots with so much sign you can smell them, kinda like a hog pen..But as for seeing them...HA HA HA..From what I hear the old timers say, that the hog population isn't what it used to be.

Aint to many left. Farmers around started getting upset about it and throwing lots of lights and bullets around. If your going to go I would stay close to the major watersheds, but like Cecil said, prepare to not see anything.

Three years ago I found some hogs up there but couldn't never get a shot at em. Two years ago I had a good shot at a nice boar but decided it was to rough where I was attemt to drag him out, so I gave him a pass. Last year I decided it wasn't worth it and didn't go up there. That place is ROUGH!!!
