HIN number lost

A friend of mine that let's me hunt his land asked me for help. He has an old boat he bought years ago...15+ years. He bought it at a garage sale. He never did register or use it. He's now wanting to start use it since he sold his other boat. Problem is the HIN has fell off. He does have the Tn hull numbers though. Is there anyway he can find the hull id number so he can register it? He tried going through the courthouse but they weren't any help. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Give Boat Registration a call at 615-781-6585 to see if the old number might still be in the system where they can access the HIN. If it isn't call the Boating Div. to see what the next step needs to be.
