I hunt just off Only Rd, a couple miles off I40. I killed a nice 8pt on Nov 2nd. He was chasing two does. Of course, I was thinking the rut was already heating up and couldn't wait to come back with Muzzleloader this past weekend. However, this past weekend, little to no chasing observed. Saw about 15 does and 3 bucks, none of them showed any hints of the rut. I presume the warm temps may have something to do with it and I expect (hope) that this cold spell gets them kicked into high gear. So, is anyone else in this area experiencing a late rut?

Monday I had a 3.5 yr. old 7 pt. & a 1.5 yr. old 3 pt. chasing three does around my stand for over ten minutes before the disappeared into a thick bedding area. This was in Bon Aqua.

The cold spell really got the rut rolling at our place. Several good bucks killed this weekend. I killed another 8 pt and there was a couple monsters killed/seen on our property running does. Good luck all!

Had my chance it a big one Thursday night, but ran out of light with him at 25 yards. He had been fighting a bigger one further down the hollow about 10 minutes prior. Still havent seen any chasing or following. That should be starting on our place any day now, but im sure this warmer weather will damper it. i will be in the woods Wed-Sun so i hope the temps stay down and it should be good.

At our place off 48 seemed like the smaller bucks are starting to cruise but haven't seen any chasing or big ones yet. Usually the week around thanksgiving is the money week
