A couple things...
I'm not good with my geography. Hickman is northeast of Nashville close to Gallatin right? LOL
As to his being built like a tank, he definitely was but I didn't put him on the scales to get a true body weight. Funny story - he actually was the easiest deer I've killed in terms of getting out of the woods. He went down on the steep side of a ridge about 60 yds above a mostly dry creek bottom with some sections of undercut bank. I just gave him a gentle pull to get him started and then guided him down the hill and onto the ATV that I had positioned strategically in the creekbed. Never really had to lift him at all. That being said, the cooler was hell to lift into the truck after I'd quartered him up.
I imagine he was hard to handle when it come to fighting. He'd been doing quite a bit of it - had 5-6 bare spots across his back and shoulders where he'd been fighting. I'm guessing the rest of those local bucks are celebrating his demise about right now.
Gravey, that was me at LUVS. Hate I missed you. Probably was in Subway eating with the family. We'd spent the weekend at Montgomery Bell State Park and they were about to head south.
