A long day that started at 3:30 this morning ended with a bang!
Had a tall chocolate rack 8-pt this morning close but too thick to get a shot. Had one opening and gave it the old "mehhhhhhh" and he stopped but started moving as I was beginning to squeeze the trigger. Went to a different spot this afternoon and this guy comes out on the far end of a plot with about 10 minutes of legal light left. He made his way across it and started up the road I was on and when he passed a tree at maybe 25 yards I squeezed the trigger. I aimed for the shoulder hoping to anchor him right there but he ran by me dragging it. Made it about 50 yards and I heard him fall over. His back is tore up from where he's been fighting. Bucks were cruising as of the 8 deer I saw 6 were bucks and not sure on the other 2.
