For me, trimming is the longest of the whole process. I think I actually try to trim too much. If there is any silver, it goes

That silver could probably serve as baling twine. I would not attempt to eat it.

I try to keep all the silver out of the grinder. I use a kitchen-aid and any that makes it through my screening ends up wrapped around the grinding blades.

I had the same problem with it wrapping around my blades but I didnt know if I just needed to cut it into shorter bits.

Done my 1st one last year. Best tasting deer meat I have ever eaten. Didnt win no speed records, but hopefully I will get a little faster this year. But really not in a hurry once the time changes.
