Just the fact that they're thinking of it is enough for alarm. It's coming, and a lot of folks are going to be turned into criminals overnight. Again, it's coming, and with this looming regime change it'll resurface, you can bet on it.
 
I"ve always wondered how they've allowed the telescoping "braces" and went from 'you can't shoulder it' to it's 'okay to put it to your shoulder' in the first place. I like those rules, but have a hard time reconciling them with their SBR reg's as they're almost the same. To me it's a wonder we've gotten to do what we have as long as we have particularly with so many folks on social media basically showing off and bragging on how their pistol is almost exactly like an SBR so why bother with its paperwork, taxes and regulations.

That being said, I hope that at worst is we go back to non-telescoping braces and no shouldering. If that's the worst I'll be okay with it, not happy but okay. Luckily I've still got my blade and parts that I'll need to swap back.
 
When a bill or reg is presented there's always a comment period. You may as well piss in the wind. But when they close the comment period most of the time it's gonna happen. I've been with the Fed Govt for 31 years. Their comment periods are a joke.

This has been my thinking all along also. When you take an existing rifle design, chop it off shorter than the law allows, cut the stock off then claim it's a "pistol" I don't see how the ATF let that slide by their existing laws unchallenged.
 
Always thought that folks were silly saying they hunted with a pistol with a 10-15" barrel and a rifle cartridge instead of a real pistol caliber , sounds like a short barreled rifle to me. but if it makes you happy I don't care lol
