I bought my son a Henry mini-bolt in .22 cal for Christmas. I wanted to share my experience before anyone else buys one of these guns. The first problem was the gun not firing approximately 40-50% of the time. I tried three different brands of ammo, CCI, Remington, and Winchester (none of them subsonic). The dimple on the rear of the cartridge was barely visible on either the cartridges that fired or those that didn't. The spring in the bolt is just too weak. Second, the gun will barely (less than half the time) eject the shell. I have to press on an exposed piece of spring steel on the bolt to force an extraction. This is the first Henry I have bought. I thought the extra money ($199 before tax and background check fee) for this single shot .22 would be worth it, but I have been very disappointed. I should mention, we thoroughly cleaned and lubricanted the gun before ever firing it. When I called Henry's customer service, the guy obviously was not familiar with the gun and confused it for a different model several times. I have to fill out a form on the Henry website and send the whole gun back to them. I tried to convince them to let me send them only the bolt, but they didn't care about my comments. Their policy is to send in the whole gun, no exceptions. Much more of a pain to ship but whatever. I don't see myself buying another Henry.

i have a couple Henry lever action 22s that shoot good and function 100%,,their CS is good I hear so I bet they take care of it for you,,

I bought a used Henry lever action one time and it wouldn't cycle half the time.
The guy I bought it from paid me back and sent it back to them.
Supposedly they fixed it for free and it has worked fine ever since.
Never gave them another chance.

Hope they work it out for you.

Got my dad a lever action 22 for his birthday. He opens the box and the stock was busted. It was morning. I called Henry and the next day there was a brand new stock delivered. They'd over nighted it. Gun functions flawlessly and I was impressed with customer service.

I learned along time ago you can get a lemon in everything. Contact Henry. They will take care of you.

I contacted Henry, and they sent me a shipping label to send the gun back for repairs. It shipped out today. I will let you all know how it turns out.

I received this rifle back from Henry last Friday. I never heard anything while the rifle was at the factory, and I have no idea what the issue with the gun was. Henry did provide a login to review my guns status, but it never said anything except they had received the rifle. I took my son shooting yesterday, and the gun works perfectly now. I think this is a different rifle that was packaged with a little card that said "thank you for your patience". I have to go back and compare serial numbers. Is that something I should really have to do? I don't think I am a very critical fella, but am I being unreasonable to think I should get some kind of explanation or at least a clear notification that my gun was replaced with a new one?
