I decided late to go a head and plant two plots. Ground is plowed and disc. But with disc it once more. What should I plant? Oats? wheat? I have one 3 lb bag of forage clover or something the wife had bought for christmas. I would love to get a soil test but I need to get the seed in the ground. So what should I put down 0-20-20 ?

TOO early for oats or wheat, TOO late for clover. Buckwheat or Sorgum would be good right now but you risk accomplishing nothing without a soil test.
 
I probably waisted time and money. I got in a hurry and was in clarksville so I stopped at the Coop. I couldn't remember what I had read in other post. I remembered a discussion on sunflowers so I picked some up. I couldn't remember which I had read was best wheat or oats so I picked up 50 lb of oats. The guy at coop reccomended 15-15-15 for fertilizer. I came home disc it once more and put out 100 lb of fertilizer, 50 lb of wheat and 30 lb of sunflower. This is on about 1/2 acre.

I plan on mowing it down later and will add buckwheat I guess. By then I will have a soil test too.
 
regular rate of seed for sunflowers is about 3-5 pounds per acre planted in rows and 5-7 pounds per acre when broadcast, this is if you want to produce large flowering heads. more seed than the above stated will overpopulate and give you small flowering heads, at the same time it will be plenty of green leaves for deer to browse on. sunflowers will do decent on small amounts of fertilizer and no soil tests, if you are not trying to produce large flowering heads with lots of seed.
 
Well its definatly over seeded but I was more interested in the green leaves from the sunflowers for the deer then worrying about flowered heads. The good news is that its raining right now

1 or 2 bags of most any type fertilizer will do a lot of good, as long as you are doing the sunflowers there is not much need in worrying about soil test

Are you saying to add another bag or 2 of fertilizer? I was talking about a soil test before reseeding later in the year.
