Help with delayed ignition on Endeavor

Just getting back into ML and have a new Endeavor. Been reading about the Blackhorn 209 so here we go. 100gr of loose 209 with CCI primers and the new Barnes 250gr TMZ with the blue sabot. About 80-90percent of the 12-15 shots fired have had a delayed fire where you here the primer and then boom. Kinda hard to hold real steady. Why is this? What should I do?
 
Try a different powder and primer. I have an Endeavor and us 777 loose and 777 primers. I haven't had the first delay.
 
Before going out and buying any powder and primers, I would pull the breach plug and clean it thuroughly as well as the rifle. I would then go back out and load it again and make sure the sabot is seated all the way down on the powder. Look how much of the rod is sticking out the barrel. Pull it out and hold it along side of the barrel and make sure it looks right. With an empty gun, the rod is probably barely sticking out the barrel. With it loaded, it might stick out 3 inches, maybe less. Shoot it and then if it still does it. Go from there.
 
One thing I have heard but have not needed to try is to call the Blackhorn 209 folks and discuss what you are experiencing. They want feedback and are evidently very responsive to customers that are having problems/issues.
My load is 110 grains loose with a Hornady XTP 240gr./44 cal pistol bullet and green sabot. This sabot fits tight but with Winchester standard 209 primers I have not had an ignition problem. I did have problems when using a Hornady SST/300 grain with the red "low drag" sabot. I could not get BH209 to ignite under that projectile. It is a very loose fit as compared to the XTP and green sabot combination. This is out of a Knight Rolling Block.
 
I have shot 5 bottles of BH 209 using a 260 harvester bullet with the Crush Rib sabot and Winchester 209 primers. Very accurate load out of my Knight Disc Elite. I did encounter 4 hangfires which I attributed to clogged breech plug. You have to remove the carbon build up in the nipple of the breech plug. i am using the FPJ breech plug. i get a lot of carbon build up in the receiver area. Well, on Saturday, in illinois, a nice buck gave me a 45 yd shot at him. Quess what, hangfire, I missed!!! Very disappointed but I made sure it was a clean miss. Looked hard for blood sign and the deer to no avail. I called western Powders today, and it was highly recommended i go to a CCI Mag primer. Most of the problems they have encountered have been with Knight rifles and wincheter primers. Keith told me the TCs have performed perfectly with CCI mags. The Knight due to the design of the breech plug allows some fire to escape instead of being directed to the powder. I ordered some CCI mags and will try them. If not satisfied, I am getting a TC Endeavor. Two TC reps in camp with me said they have had trouble with Winchester primers not allowing the Endeavor to close properly, but they didn't personal experience with BH209. they were shooting 777. I love the Knight rifles but may not be able to trust them with BH209. May have to use 777 in them. Some guys are having good luck with Federal 209s in the Knight disc rifles.
 
DA - I never had a problem with loose 777 either in any of my rifles, in-lines or percussion. I got the bug to try the BH209 after reading all the good reviews. Never had a failure to fire or perform when needed. I figured the advantage of cleaner shooting, using hotter primers and better overall performance would get me a solid and consistent 200yd gun.
With what I have shot of the BH209 to date, I'll stick with it in the in-lines.
 
This stuff is going to have marketing problems as more people get out and shoot. I gave my can away due to dangerous misfires. I called Western Powders and this was their solution for my CVA Optima Pro:

Buy a #32 drill bit for the Optima breech plug
Use Federal 209A or CCI Magnum primers
Clean out flash hole often

Still had issues, this stuff is going to either be improved or fall off the map.
