This is actually in MS on some property I own. Specifically Tate cty, Tunica cty border. Pretty sure it's one I was after last year, he's added some character.Chit, man. He's old enough and big enough to not worry about the specifics. What county is he in?
Agree. He's got great mass, exceptionally long main beams, and great tine length overall. I don't see any way he would gross less than 160".Closer to 160 for me.
Sorry for editing, son doesn't want his pic blasted...Updated pics?
Appreciate it. He's 32, he has a 140 something 10 pt, a low 160's 8 pt, this is his biggest. There are several back stories to this harvest. The best one is he missed this deer 3x's on thanksgiving afternoon. Now, he is a very good shot, always has been. He bought a new rifle and scope the day before, could only find 1 box of ammo (should be plenty, right?). Enjoyed shooting it so much he shot all but 3 between sighting in the scope and just shooting. This deer came running to his grunt call from about 200 yds, got to within 50. He shoots, misses, shoots misses, shoots a third time and misses. Can't figure out what's going on. The buck never flinched, then came within 30 yds, sees him, blows and takes off. the Next day he is able to borrow some ammo from a buddy, goes back to the range and figures out he must of somehow inadvertently knocked his scope off when he set the zero stop. Gets his scope back on, the gets another chance at him Sunday and connects.Congrats!!!!!
A lot of great deer get posted here every year. This one stood out to me above the rest. How old is your son? He's likely to spend the rest of his life trying to top this deer.
