help needed marlin 35 rem

I have a leaver action 35 rem. And it will not shoot the leaver revolution shells will not ignite the primers, but will shoot the rem. ok. Now went to the range and had two not fire of the rem. one not at all but the other did after third try.
Is this a issue I can fix or is a gunsmith needed if so anyone know a gunsmith around columbia? thanks

Sounds like you have a weak hammer spring,farily common with marlins and not that hard a fix. You could also have crud build up in the bolt remove it clean and try again.

There used to be a shop had a range out back,on the north end ,was on the hwy coming from I-65. BUT I don't recall the name.

My Marlin .35 does the same thing. It's a weak hammer spring, look at the primers from the mis fires. They shouldn't be dented as bad as the fired ones.

Hay thanks for the help. Cleaned up the bolt last night. Found the spring on line going to fix her up. And yes the primers ar dented. thanks again
