This is the layout of a farm I get to hunt this year. The red indicated the property boundries. The black is your standard cattle fencing. On this farm, where should my first places be to start scouting? I am still trying to learn these topo maps.
 
I don't know, I haven't tried scouting by straight topo maps, but I'd be looking behind the pond first. Up in the woods. Where do the deer come out and where are the mast trees full of fruit this year.
 
I'd start looking near the top left and right corners.. Some decent terrain funnels there... Maybe glass it from s distance on a couple good evenings and see where the deer come out... Assuming the bottom is pasture, and the hills are wooded, I'd suspect those corners to be pretty good..
 
I'm assuming that the top is north. I would look on your eastern side, it appears you have nice saddle that would serve as good funnel for deer as well on the west side. Do you know what the elevation is by each line(looks like 40-50ft). Also what is the surrounding area look like. I m trying to see a bigger picture of where the deer would be feeding and bedding and what travel corridors they would most likely use. Hope this helps.

You ought to find some good fence crossings with the fence running through the woods on both sides.. I'd walk that fence out and find the best ones and go from there. Should be able to get a good sense of travel routes and funnels leading to the crossings this way..
 
On the west, climb up to the property line, it isn't far. I cannot tell what the buildings are but I'd head for the NW corner and watch to ccatch something coming to the pasture. On the east, look for something the deer are using or could use to get from your property to the fields on the east.

Cookville winds are predominantly from the SouthWest and Northwest, correct? You are going to have to enter the property from the southeast most corner for a lot of the year. Elevation is not much, less than 1500 feet right?

When you can hunt the norther border, you are going to need a north wind, I would approach from the east side. I did not see any indications of a bench in the topo. Might want to look very hard for one close by one of the low spots between the hills.

The spot that looks the most promising to me is the NE corner. As said above there looks to be a good saddle\pinch point there that could be a great place during the rut when the bucks are on the move. Also all the way across the north end of the property I would be looking for pinch points created by dead falls, and other terrain features that create funnels leading to and from thickets\bedding areas and food sources.
