Help me choose

Got an itch that needs to be scratched with a new 300 win mag, would like to stay under 800 bucks, just want a good solid hunting rifle. Thanks

if dead set on 300 win mag id go with a rem 700 sps ( if the make one in 300 i know they do 7 mag)
or savage

I also just bought a Bergara B14 and couldn't be happier with it. Quality is awesome for $700

Look hard for a Savage 110/116 trophy hunter on sale, then replace the stock with a Ball and Carlson. Should put you really close to the $800 mark and will be a tack driver

Haven't priced them in a very long time but my "go to" rifle is a Browning A-Bolt .300 win mag.
Mortal death I tell ya.

Bought my son an X-Bolt for Christmas a few years ago and I hate to admit it but I really liked it.

I would highly recommend either.

If you don't want to buy an X-bolt, do not pick one up and work the bolt.

Honest, smooth as a baby's bottom. Kills me to pass them by.

My A-Bolt 300 will de-sex a flea at 100 yards and not leave a mark. Toll is a bunch of cow elk and 1 5x5 bull all with Nosler 180 gr partitions. I don't count California Blacktail or Colorado/Utah muley's, they stood no chance.

Can't go wrong.

Yeah, the stock had to go on my 116 Bear Hunter.

I've gotta weigh in and echo what daveB and ruger are saying regarding the x bolt. I saw a hells canyon model hanging on the wall of my frequented dealer just this week while picking up my lady's new carry pistol. I made the mistake of asking to see it. It was chambered in 300 win mag. Suffice to say I went home and started looking for things to sell.
