Help, Issue with revolver Rossi

I sold someone a revolver was in fine working order and now he is saying that it doesn't spin when he cocks the hammer. Have never had an issue with it till now and he demanded his money back. So I'm going to get back curious on thoughts that may be wrong with it all the sudden or what could have happened?

Yes the screws you could tell were taken out. And the screw for the handle is missing the nut now.

There's your answer. Probably put something back together wrong or something is missing.

In the future, sell it as is.

That's honorable of you to take it back. But if he took it apart I would have refused to take back what he obviously messed up. Just goes to show what detailed pics of "before the sale" can provide for instances like this. Sorry that happened to you.

Trigger return spring is either broken or missing. Watch the trigger movement when you pull back on the hammer, you can see it "reset" forward then the firing sequence works when you pull the trigger again.

Photo I found online shows the mechanics to be exactly the same as a S&W. I circled the area in yellow, the trigger return spring is within the black square block. Best case scenario is the spring is missing/broken/not installed correctly. The worst case scenario is the buyer pulled the trigger one or more times while the side plate was removed which puts a lot of pressure on the rear retaining pin that holds the spring in. Without the side plate the pin is missing 1/2 its support and can shear off. You better hope that didn't happen.

Man I should open a gunsmithing business....
