That's the bait of choice on the Nolichuckey River in east TN. I was wondering if anyone across the state uses them sucker's. Smallmouth love them. Also known as gramphis, we sein for them.

I've used them. They are great bait. I also have some soft plastics that look just like them.

Used to sein them to fish with as a kid. Hellgrammites are dobson fly larva. Pretty good bait. Watch the pinchers!

I love em when I can get em. They are tough too, u can catch lots of fish on the same one sometimes.
