heavier bullets are better?

i read the chart that came with the barnes TEZs i bought. It says the 290 bullets shoot flatter than the 250s on all Barnes bullets. Thinking I should try the 290s. This sounds backwards. I thought the heavier bullet would fall faster. Can anyone confirm this for me?

What will the downside of the 290 be? bigger recoil?

Physics lesson in momentum. two bullets of the same design, the heavier bullet has more momentum. At some point the lighter bullet will lose momentum faster and fall quicker than the heavier bullet.

Yes, only down side is more recoil, but not that much IMO.

Used to be a fellow on here that would kill 30 deer a year. He said use as heavy a bullet as possible.

True, but to keep it simple with two bullets of the same design the heavier one will shoot flatter overall. Bullet length, ogive, BC, center of gravity, obturation(sp?)and any other thing that don't mean much of anything to 99% of the people sending shots downrange; just confuses most people.
