made my reservation tonight for the Keys...I am almost complete with my custom trailer for my skiff also expecting my custom T-top to arrive any day and then off to Big Pine Key in April...Tarpon should be rolling around like crazy...

Aint nothing like drifting a crap and bending a rod :)
 
I have done a lot of saltwater fishing, but I have never "drifted a crap", at least not intentionally. Please enlighten me! LOL
 
If the wind shuts ya down, put in at the campground, duck under the bridge to the gulf side flats and cast spoons, tube lures, or anything you don't want to keep for cuda. They are a hoot on light tackle. Good place to take the wife or kids for some fast action.

Cuda shorter than your forearm are excellent eating. Don't eat anything longer than that.

How are hotels in that area during that time? Any suggestions for a fishing camp kind of place? I have the boat. Just a place to sleep, clean up a boat, and go back at the next day.I just need to get on with it, and get this addiction idea out of my head. I was thinking about Islamorada, but.....

We stayed at sunsetvillas.com when we went. Its on conch key which is just above marathon. Good rates, family owned and clean. Villas are on the water and nice.
