A guy I know had 22.65 lbs Sat. & finished in 5th place, out of the $$$$$. I couldn't imagine coming in with 22.65 lbs on that cold of a day & not being in the $$$$. Good sacks being caught down there right now.
 
I went last year for the BFL tournament got there thursday, tournament was saturday. After fishing a couple hours and not catching nuthin we tried a 1-3 foot deep grass flat and it wasn't 10 minutes til i had the biggest largemouth i've ever caught it was 7.2 lbs caught it on a rattletrap not sure what color. Fished the next day and me and dad caught i think 3 a piece only 1 or 2 keepers. Then on tournament day the guy i got drawed with supposedly was a guide on the lake and the only fish between us was a 4 lb catfish that i caught on a crawdad colored crankbait. It figures. Anyway they say this time of year the best bet is a rattletrap/ lipless crankbait. Once you find the fish whether on a depthfinder or the end of your rod, don't give up, throw everything you got. I'm going to try to get down there a few times this spring before the grass comes up. I only went three times last year and between me and a couple friends we caught a 5-3/4lber, several 2-3 pounders, and a lot of smaller ones. It's an awesome lake and I hope to fish it more this year.

BTW. Lipless cranks over top of the grass beds early, cranks on the edge of the channel mid morning, and swim baits in the middle of the day. ;)
