Shot a bunch of times with my air rifle in the back yard. Some missed, but I know at least one hit the squirrel. He was half way up the tree and I hear the thud of the pellet meeting squirrel meat, but he just ran to the top of the tree and disappeared.

If he doesn't die soon then he'll die later when I get a decent shot.

all of the squirrels i have killed with a bb gun & shooting bb's or the old style pellets had to be head shots.now adays 800fps is slow so a 1000fps is getting into the 22 short range & a mid body hit with them does work.

Head and neck shots are usually the kill shots for me. I hit him too far back on the side I think. My best kill shot ever with the air rifle was a neck shot at 30 yards. The gun only shoots about 650 fps with pellets.
