Favorite time of the year! House smells great from my wife roasting them. Baked catfish filets with hatch pepper sauce tonight.

Hatch pepper salsa, hatch pepper sausage, hatch pepper queso, hatch pepper pork roast, hatch pepper green sauce....

Best .67/lb I've ever spent.

HEB is in full swing. I have to stock up now since I'm leaving for TN tomorrow and won't be back for until Labor Day.

Thirty five dollars a case. Seems high to me but I have never bought Hatch Peppers before and don't have a clue as to what price they should sell.

Sounds delicious...where can I find some in Memphis? I am also looking for some Tabasco peppers...I didn't grow enough to fill the bottle that I want to fill with pepper-sauce. I need a couple more pints.

The picture I posted is from a Whole Foods near my house in Dallas, so maybe Whole Foods in Memphis might have some? It's worth a try. I'll be making some Hatch chili verde sauce tonight. I'm addicted to that stuff.

I started to offer to bring a bunch up last week, but I didn't know if there would be much interest (It's not like I don't haul enough other stuff back and forth all the tiime). They're .67/lb at home and plentiful. If I come across any while I'm in West TN I'll post it up.

Whole Foods in Germantown has them. Sprout in Lakeland has them for more than half the price ($0.99/lb)

The ones that Whole Foods sells are responsibly grown. That's why they cost more. It's not worth taking a chance on the cheaper, irresponsibly grown Hatch peppers that some grocery stores are pushing.

The new Super Kroger in G'town is carrying them, as well. I believe the price is either $0.99/lb or $1.99/lb....cant' remember

Added 2 roasted Hatch peppers to a quart of Salsa we made a month or so ago. I have to be careful to not bite my fingers off.
