I'm sure there are probably a few does in heat but overall the party hasn't started yet. I always see a major flurry in scraping and that hasn't happened yet. Every doe I've seen and caught on camera has been with fawns. I'm guessing another 2 weeks.

Your prediction matches mine for Henderson

I watched two 2.5 eights feeding together in the food plot behind my house today.

On my main hunting land I found several scrapes the 7th of Oct and they really heated up around the 14th. Then the scraping slowed down a lot come the start of Nov. One mature buck walked by the camera on 11/9 but did not appear to be concerned with the scrape. Whats weird is the scrapes did't really heat up here until late December last year and were worked into March. I can't figure out when our peak breeding is because these deer are just a bit on the side of weird. It appears that trend of abnormal scraping may occur again.

Yep agree. I saw a button and fawns still grouped with mommas. Also every buck iv seen is paired up and not even looking at doe around them

I would agree. I think we are at least a week out. Based on years past, the action doesn't kick into gear till around the last weekend in Nov., first week or two of Dec. Some of the pics I have seen, the bucks aren't really messing with the scrapes. They just stop and sniff a little and move on. I have still seen a lot of fawns with does as well. I hope this cold weather will give them a nudge and get those bucks in gear.

X2

Glad I'm not the only one in Hardeman seeing this. Heard lots of talk about seeing big bucks opening of ML but at my place it's been kinda sparse. Hopefully it'll heat up around Thanksgiving.
