I hunt Grand Junction and it seems like the deer movement is non-existent...just curious if its just me or if this is true for everyone

AND if you are seeing deer when and where are you seeing them...bottoms hardwoods pines foodplots etc..

thanks in advance

It is slow for sure but I am still seeing some deer. The other guys that are hunting the stands on the property aren't seeing hardly any. I personally haven't seen deer out in a open field or in one of our stands in a while. Even on the way home. Where I have been finding/seeing the deer is in thick pines that have a small hardwood bottom hidden inside. Also where noone has been all year. It's been slow.

Hunt around Grand Junction and Bolivar, the deer movement hasn't been very good the past 7-10 days. What little movement has been in the morning.

I took my son on a hunt on New Year's Day south of Bolivar, and we jumped a yearling in a stand of smaller trees (not a thicket, but pretty dense). I sat with him watching a green field from 3 PM until dark, but saw nothing else.

Of course, there was no shortage of sounds coming from that 6-year-old, so I'm sure that didn't help. Still, this time of year it seems like a food plot would be great.

Unfortunately, the place I was hunting has been overhunted quite a bit until 2 weeks ago. I was just assuming that the deer had shifted back to a more active state by now.

Kinda been slow for me but seems it's picked up the last two weeks more sign of the bigger bucks more rubs and scrapes and showing back up on my cameras

One last stab at it this morning in a spot I haven't hunted yet this year but have see deer in the past. My last 4 trips haven't produced not a single deer sighing. I'd hate to end the season on that note. A doe will come home with me this morning if they show.

We hunt in the Hickory Valley area and the deer movement in the AM has been non-existent. Couple of does seen only by the 3 of us hunting 379 acres. We did hunt the PM on Fri and Sat. At 5:00 pm or shortly thereafter it was like the school bell rang. I saw 9 does and 1 four point between 5:05 and 5:20. I had carried my neighbors 12 yr old hoping to get him a shot at a buck. He did not want to shoot a doe and they must have sensed this as all 9 does came within 15 feet of us. We were down wind so they could only see us on the ground. This was Friday evening. did not go on Saturday but my other two partners did. One saw a nice 6 pt and the other missed what appeared to be a large 8 pt with a " wide rack ". Missed him at 25o yards while transitioning across a cotton field into a wheat field. all the deer were moving to a corn field on the adjacent property to the West of us. Seems corn has been the food of choice on the fields this year.
