Got me a hankerin for another 7mm STW.

Used to have one in the Sendero and just simply didn't like the rifle at ALL.
Gave me a bad taste for Remingtons actually.

Anyway, thinking about getting me another one.
Just not sure what brand or who all, if anyone even offers one.

having said that i dont think rem has ever sold a cdl in that caliber


i would like to have a 7 rum with a 30 or 31 inch bbl

180 berger vld as fas as i could get them
 
I have to admit, I almost bought a Remmy the other day. It was an older Rem 722 in 300 Savage. It was in good shape for its age and was priced right. I ended up passing on it because I need another rifle like I need a hole in the head. Plus having a Remmy in my safe would be blasphemy.
 
Daddy has an STW in a Sako 75 I think it is,,it shoots the heavy Accubonds really well,,I Love me some older Remington 700`s but those Sako rifles are in another league,,
 
The Sendero I had actually had "something" wrong with it.
The bolt wouldn't close when you had one in the pipe.

Carried it to a Remington warrenty dude and he "fixed" it.
Said the firing pin was too long. ??

Still didn't feel "right" when I closed it.
Very very tight.

Sold it shortly after.

Took a killing on it too.

It should have been done right before it left the factory. Then it should have been done right when it was sent back in. Just sayin.

I agree. However, knowing that they keep tight chambers in their higher end guns, if the ammo he was feeding it was out of spec (shoulder being a little too long) or at the top end of the spec its not going to chamber. Headspace go gauge that Remington used would probably just close in the chamber when it left the factory.

Hand loading and fitting the case length to the chamber of that particular rifle would have fixed it (if that's what was causing it). If Remington left the chamber a little deeper AND the ammo manufacturer backed the case shoulder back a little more it would have shot like chit.
 
Life is short Ruger. We all need ONE more rifle. Hope you find what you are after.
