hankerin for a ML shoty

I've got the itch for a muzzle loader shotgun. I've never even handled one before. any suggestions on what to look, get, or not get?

If you're looking for a traditional style factory shotgun...Dixie Gun Works sells a double barrel made by Pedersoli. Has the exposed hammers, walnut stock and is offered in 10ga., 12ga. and 20 gauge.

Probably need a TK2000 then. I hunt everything with mine and I have a Pedersoli double barrel 12 ga, So far I have killed turkeys,rabbitt,dove,squirrel,crows and a starling with it.:)

The real question is can you afford to buy Hevi-Shot. It will cost you around 1/2 the price of the gun. ;)

If you need any help with it let me know. I use #6 chilled lead shot out of mine and it seems to work fine on the turkeys. hevi shot is like 90 dollars for a couple lbs worth.

I think Thompson center may have a break open barrel blackpowder shotgun for the Encore. I am not sure.
