Hank Shaw Carnitas???

I got a breasted out carcass yesterday and tossed it in the stock pot with some root veggies and h2o to make stock and then the wife told me she wanted Poser's carnitas. After I get all the meat out of the stock pot can I still salvage the carnitas recipe? Should I just toss the meat and the spices back into the crock pot for a few hours and then finish out Hank's recipe???

diagnosis deeeelicious.... they turned out just fine. kept em slow and low and man after I squeezed that orange and honey on em it was game over. I used some bentons bacon grease to brown up the meat and there was a nice subtle undertone of smoke....
