hand gun scope

just bought a ruger super black hawk hunter in a 41 mag and will probably scope it, would a fixed 2 power be best or a 2x7 vari.?

2 x7 vari would be my choice. I have a Redhawk in .41 mag with 7 3/4" bbl topped off with Burris 3 x 9 handgun scope.

thanks!! i didnt know whether the higher power would be of any help while hunting or not, never had a pistol with a scope before!

the eye relief changes rapidly on a vari which in turn affect your shooting stance and can be really awkward in a tree stand
i've always had better luck with a fixed power on a handgun

thanks!! im thinking a fixed 2 or 4x now! most of my shots will be 75 yrds or less
