anyone have any experience with these rifles? how good do they shoot, are they worth looking into?

I had one in 243 and it shot very good. All of the people I know that have had them have all been pleased with their accuracy.

I had one in 308 topped with a aetec some years baxk,it was super short and i kept behind the seat of my truck along with my bibs and backpack so i could throw the bibs on and slip out of work around 1 and head toward the woods,it was a real tack driver with the winxhester 165 grn ballistic tips.i killed my frist pig
With that gun, i ended up trading it for a camper
But i wish i still had it

I have a HB 223. it shoots really well and is fixin to become my wifes gun. she shoots with me alot and wants her own.

For the money there accuracy can't be beat in my opinion. The only thing that could be improved is that it has a pretty heavy trigger.

Ditto to all of the above, I have a the 12ga. Slug gun, heavy barrel version. It is very, very accurate.

As Longhunter stated, you can get extra barrels of choice quite reasonable.

I have one in 7mm-08 youth with the stock cut down another inch that my little girl uses. It shoots good. She got her limit of bucks this year with it. I also have one in a 25-06. Its is the most accurate 25-06 I have ever had the privelidge to shoot.

I have had two. One was a 25-06 "ultra" with the heavy barrel and laminate stock. To this day, it was the most accurate rifle I have ever shot..period. I hate I ever sold it.
I also had one in 35 whelen. Accuracy was fine when it would shoot, but after taking it to a gunsmith, I discovered the head spacing was too long. H&R customer service was very helpful and they offered to replace the gun with caliber of my choice after recieving verification of problem from a gunsmith. I ended up just getting my money back, but overall, this would not stop me from getting another one.

I would say their customer sevice was good then, if they offered to replace the gun.............that is way more than most manufacturers would do.

I have one in 30/30 that is very accurate with 150 grain bullets either Winchester or Remington and has a good trigger. Also have a Sportster .22 that is accurate and just a fun gun. Then I have a Huntsman .50 caliber that is pretty good but I've replaced the breech plug in it with a .25 acp plug.

I have an H&R Ultra Hunter in 25-06 (laminated stock) and an H&R Ultra Varmit in 22-250 (Varmit has laminated thumbhole stock.) Both of them shoot great.

Had a .223 that I sold and now have one for my son in .243. He killed his first deer with it this year. For the money they're hard to beat IMO.

My son and brother each have the 25/06 laminate stock rifles. They are both shooters. My brothers friend had one as well, but ended up selling it to a guy at his church for 150.00 because he stopped hunting. I would have bought it, if I knew about it. He had 300-350 in the gun between scope, sling, shells etc.... it was a 25/06 also.

im leaning toward an ultralight compact in 223 for my son in a couple months for his b-day, if i can find enough work that is
