This might be old news but ive been hearing they shut down the barrel program and that there only serving the newest guns (sb2's). Can Anybody confirm this?

Not only are they out of the barrel business, they are out of the gun making business. It got to the point where you could buy a good bolt gun for what you could buy a H&R for.

Maybe a result of being bought by Remington. My son and I had a couple. Our's were only so so in accuracy.

Ive got one in 25 06 that is a tack driver. Was hoping to get a slug barrel for it guess ill have to find one for sale somewere.

Yes. That stinks. I had a MZL barrel that shot well but never got the heavy slug barrel.
