Can anyone tell me why does Tennessee have 65 days of continuous gun season? Seems like that is extremely high. Are the deer numbers that out of whack? I see no way Tennessee's deer herd will ever compare to other states with quality bucks being grown year in and year out with this liberal gun season as it is. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this.

Because we're awesome..Don't you love it..I'd hate to only be able to MZ and Gun hunt just a few weeks out of the year..I bet all the guys in KY wish they could hunt as much as we do!

Yes it is nice not having to worry about taking kids out the first week or two. I think it is real nice to have the opportunity and to keep the population up at the same time.

O and the beef in TN will never compare to the Beef in SD either but that is more the food source not the amount of farms :)

I love having a long season! When I was younger and got to hunt ALOT I hated it because I thought bucks never grew to get big and would also get tired of going. Now that I have a family to support and am lucky to hunt Saturday morning and afternoon I wish it was longer.

We do have a long season but, most hunters don't kill many bucks. I've killed one 3 1/2- 4 1/2 year old buck, each season the last 3 years. Several hunters I know do pretty much the same thing.

This this this!!!!!

I love the long season. I wish it were longer. I wish DEER season opened Oct. 1 and ran into mid-January, with weapon choice up to the hunter (although bag limits would need to be adjusted to prevent over-harvest).

Absolutely!

I love having a long season, b/c I love to deer hunt. I can't go every single day, but it's nice to have time to work in hunting quite a bit throughout the season, and not worry about cramming it into a couple or three weeks.
