I regularly clean my guns, but always feel I could do better.

I have cleaning gear scattered everywhere and am thinking about buying a good cleaning kit. Already have a few bore snakes for certain calibers...mainly for quick cleans.

If you all would share your gun cleaning gear/equipment and maybe techniques I would appreciate it. Especially for rifles and pistols.

Links to YouTube videos will be okay, I just wanted to get your thoughts.

Thanks.

Posted this up before on similar threads, check out the history files. I use Gunslick foam or Wipeout. I have used a wide selection of other cleaners and now they just sit or have been discarded. Either of these two are excellent. Follow instructions to the letter. Use eye protection. KEEP Gunslick away from Plastic anything. Do not get it on anything except the inside of your bore. Wipeout is much easier on everything but is not as efficient.

In exchange for the strict rules, you get a truly remarkable result. Cold steel with no brushing. No gunpower residue. No copper fouling. Nothing but steel. It does something you may not appreciate right now but you soon will. It buys you Time.

Kits seem to always have a bunch of crap I'd never use.

This is what I use most often:

Dewey Rods .30 and .223 cal
Parker Hale jags
patches
an old tshirt
qtips
Breakfree CLP
Shooters Choice
A toothbrush
Bronze bore brushes for the appropriate caliber
Bore snake for shotgun
TW25B grease
Remington Action Cleaner
