Grouse Season is almost here!!!

Well it was 2 weeks from yesterday...... the terrain will be unforgiving and the bird numbers ( who knows )........ I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Bitter sweet. Lost by German Shorthair 2 months ago to cancer. We learned to bird hunt together and she essentially taught me everything I know. When we lost all of our quail spots to subdivisions we took to the mountains. Took her a while to figure out where to look, but she showed me and we started to put it all together. It will be a different kind of season as I try to show this crazy little setter what little i know....but it will be fun, cant wait for the first thunderous flush.

I havent seen a grouse in years, we used to have a healthy population years ago but theyve vanished as did the quail, would love to see them make a huge come back.
