I don't grouse hunt,but I used to jump 1 or 2 everynow and then around my dads field when rabbit hunting,but I guess I havn't seen a grouse in 5 or 6 years and i still rabbit hunt to.
 
I used to grouse hun in the Cherokee National Forest in Carter, Johnson, and Sullivan counties. Used to see a lot of grouse; I had a good English Setter that could find them for me. I now have a heart problem and can no longer do it, but I really miss it.
 
When I guided in VT I had the time of my life. I hunted Grouse and Woodcock all my life,I always had some fantastic dogs.My English Pointers and Springers were incredible. We would flush 100+ birds in a day! That is the one thing I REALLY miss about New England. I amk going back next year on a week long trip. I think it is the best kept secret for upland game. I could get on birds every day.All day!
 
I killed 4 last year in Idaho elk hunting...I killed them one arrow... ;) :grin: :whistle:

They didn't fly off so I walked up and hit each one with an arrow accross the back of the neck... :D

Man we had a good breakfast the next morning... ;)
