140 yards with 45 cva accura. dressed 130 lbs.

one g2 is 11" and one is 12" and crab claws

and killed 3 mature does with my bow last week, 20 yards, 46 yards and 20 yards.

Happens but the craze of only massive antlers is why these posts suck. I think he has a cool rack and a good looking buck with a clean kill. That is all that should matter.

It's hard to age them laying on the ground, but he doesn't look particularly young to me. Thick neck all the way down to the chest. Definitely nothing to apologize over. How old do you think he is?

Great buck! I killed one 4 years ago that looks a lot like him. Congrats, I don't think he is super young though.

With that neck of his, id be tempted to say he might be a 3 year old or a very healthy 2 year old. either way its a beautiful buck and the hunt is what matters.

Sweet!
Ground shrinkage happens and it's nothing to fret on. Nor is it "what's wrong with hunting". I've killed plenty of deer, squirrel, turkey, etc and they ended up being slightly different than what I thought. It's reality. I just prefer them to be bigger than expected [emoji16]

Excuses are another thing....

Great buck! I refuse to let ground shrinkage affect me pulling the trigger. He was big enough when you pulled the trigger so enjoy the moment. I still get excited when buck action starts. When that stops I am giving up hunting.

Agree completely. How much fun you had and the experience is what is most important. Very nice deer.
